Controversial Theories – We support objective teaching and equal treatment of all sides of scientific theories. We believe theories such as life origins and environmental change should be taught as challengeable scientific theories subject to change as new data is produced. Teachers and students should be able to discuss the strengths and weaknesses of these theories openly and without fear of...

And I’m filthy stinking rich. In Harvest Moon, of course.
What they call Alchemy I call Science
Edward: We talked about what would happen if we died here, remember?
Alphonse: Yeah, a lot of people would be sad…
Edward: That’s a subjective opinion, but look at it objectively, if I died the world would continue to move along as if nothing had happened…
Alphonse: Because you’re just a small part of it[.]
Edward: [...]Now when the small part, in this case me, dies, the body remains.
Alphonse: Water, carbon, ammonia, lime, phosphorus, salt, saltpeter, sulfur, magnesium, fluorine, iron, and aluminum, right?
Edward: Right. The body is only a combination of those simple elements, nothing more. We’re destined to be decomposed by bacteria and become nutrients for plants, and if you follow the process further, those plants nourish herbivores.
Alphonse: And those herbivores nourish carnivores… Even others like us… And though we lose awareness, our lives keep moving through the system.
Edward: The great flow that maintains the universe, we call it the cycle of life, the course of nature. Each of us is just a small part of that current: One in the all. And without all the individual ones, the all can’t exist. This world flows by following greater laws we can’t even imagine, to recognize that flow, and work within it, to decompose, and recreate…
Both: That is Alchemy.

Addicted. Make it stop.

Anthony's Question:
“You don’t have the standard ‘ask’ thing on your theme, ya know. But: are there any novels or conceptual art pieces that you’d like to see in video games? Or, if not, what changes would you like to see in Pokemon games? XD “
Honestly, I feel like if done right, some of the bits of Ender’s Game would make for an amazing Tactics game. I think it’d be better if it...
Hey guys you should ask me questions now that I'm...
(Not sure what I think of the new theme, though…)
Hey guys I'm bored you should ask me questions.
Honestly, I’ll be surprised if I get a single one.
Finally organized my books
In this order: Math -> Physics (Particle/Quantum -> General -> Stars -> Galaxies) -> Chem -> Bio (Genetics -> Insects -> Reptiles -> Evolution) -> Languages (Spanish -> Tagalog -> Japanese) -> Political Science (sorta?) -> Science Outreach (More “kid” science, ‘How Things Work,’ etc). Yeap. I followed the xkcd scale of decreasing...

Found an old Pokémon Notebook
Possibly from around 7th grade or so. I had a ton of insanely-well-documented breeding experiments that I tried in there, written out in better lab/scientific procedure than some of my physics notebooks at NCSSM. Clearly, Pokémon is insanely serious business.
My Thoughts
It’s odd, but they nearly always take the form of dialogues. Sometimes between different aspects of myself that I pit against each other until they reach a conclusion, but they’re much more commonly dialogues with other people. The fact that said dialogues will never happen is irrelevant- I still realize important things, say things I didn’t mean to say, etc etc. Of course,...
Requested Prompt: Old Movies
Not just old movies. Old books. Old magazines. Old tv shows, video games, any of it. It’s odd how re-watching or re-reading the best parts- the parts that left you shocked or overjoyed or even depressed- it’s odd how they’re only a shadow of what they once were. Yes, Final Fantasy X’s ending scene makes you cry evertim, Ms. Weasley’s “NOT MY DAUGHTER YOU...

Just finished Kaiji season 2
God what in the world was that. Not bad, but not nearly the level of season 1. (Speaking of, to all of you Death Note/Code Geass fans, KAIJI IS A MUST-WATCH.)
Phoenix Wright Writers
Oh my god. They had so much fun translating this game. I’ll post more as I get them, but this part has just been one giant extended pun. A character had a bust made of their head (like, a statue), and Wright just said (among many, many other things:) “It’s quite a large bust.” ”With the force of gravity and <character here>’s ample bust!”

ambedo n. a kind of melacholic trance in which you become completely absorbed in vivid sensory details—raindrops skittering down a window, tall trees leaning in the wind, clouds of cream swirling in your coffee—which leads to a dawning awareness of the haunting fragility of life
I have experienced this before, both accidentally and induced through meditation. It is both...

Made my night.
Nina: I truly understand now, stars have a certain kind of magic.
Nina: I slept under the stars in the rockies two nights ago. Simply amazing. I saw shooting stars and the milky way for the first time. I couldn't get over how beautiful it was. At our end of camp session people kept going back to the stars and how amazing they were and it sunk in, they have such a huge power.
Nina: And of course I thought of you and how people can tell who you are at night because you walk outside and immediately look up.
