Both ATLAS and CMS have reported a signal with 5.0 sigma, discovering what seems to be the Higgs boson. It has a mass of ~125-126 GeV, making it the most massive boson ever found. It may or may not be a standard model Higgs (an excess in diphoton signals may indicate that it’s not), as these are only preliminary results.
